Originally built in the 1910's as Dresher's Garage and the Dresher Motor Company, a Buick dealership.
The Lansdale semicentennial book is seen in the window along with a poster for the 1923 Buicks, so we have the clues on when this photo was taken.
This building was transformed into a gallery of stores with apartments on the second and third floors in 1928.
The garage front doors, which allowed cars to pass through into the repair area, were replaced by an enclosed walkway that provided protection from elements for shoppers and also leads to Madison Street.
It was a unique design for the times and was replicated in many communities over the years.
There has been a large variety of businesses in this building throughout its long history.
