Peel away the front layers of this building and you'll find one of the first homes of the Lansdale Reporter (1881-1906), later the North Penn Reporter.
Publisher R.H. Andrews owned the building and had a medical practice on the second floor. When he lost interest in publishing a newspaper, he sold the rights to W.H. Woodmansee, who was publisher for many years.
In 1886, when this map was published, Dr. Andrews was publishing the 'Lansdale Reporter' ,Dr. Seese lived next door in Dr. Andrews former home, and Dr. Andrews lived next door to Dr. Seese on W. Main Street.
Many people have fond memories of its time as a local pet store. Before that, for many years, it was Stevenson’s Gift Shop
The building is now home to Nostalgic Collectibles, but if you look hard at the upper marquee you can still see evidence of its time as a publishing house. Well into the 1970s, the “Reporter” could be seen in the upper façade.
